Pootles Design Week 3 for June

Hello friends,

Welcome to week 3 of the design team. This week I had fun looking at different cuts and folds for card, I took my inspiration from Vamp Stamps eArticle called Speciality Card Folds: Cards with More Than One Fold (link can be found here. I would encourage you to have a look at the other eArticles.

I settled on a tri fold card with the top of the card stepped, on relection I think that this stamp was a bit too big for this but overall the card came out quite well.

Pootles Deign week 1 for June

Hello and welcome to week 1 for the June Pootles design team.

This month’s stamp set is called Remarkable You (click to purchase). This stamp was never on my radar, I don’t know why as it is flowers and something I can colour in, both of which I love.

As this stamp is a very clean and elegant I want to mimick that in the finished project as I don’t do fussy cards (if that what you are looking for you’ve come to the wrong place). I also wanted to single layer card but to too boring that’s why I decided to cut a panel out.

I have done a short video (well short for me) on how I completed that card.

Bunch of Blossoms Card topper

img_0147

Hey everyone.

Just a quick post about the card topper that I showed you in the video.

For this card topper, I used the Bunch of Blossom stamp set from my online store. I used the outline stamp from the largest petal as I wanted to be able to colour them in with my Spectrum Noirs, I tried to chose colour that I felt would match the colours of some of our cardstock. The pink one I did in the video I think matches so well with the Melon Mambo and the Yellow with the Daffodil Delight (card in the next blog and video Monday).img_0148

The die that I used for cutting out the frame is from Spellbinders Pearl effects and it can be purchased from the link

http://www.iconuk.co.uk/Spellbinders-Nestabilities-Card-Creator-A—2-Pearl-Effects

I think it is a great idea to have a stack of card toppers that can be easily placed on a card when one is needed.

God bless and have a wonderful weekend.
